New Book Release: The Samadhi of Water
I am pleased to announce the release of my new book, The Samadhi of Water: An Introduction to the Jaya Samyama of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra.
This book is the result of many years of study with Vyaas Houston (author of Yoga Sutras-The Practice), practice, teaching, and reflection on the meditative methods described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. It is designed to serve as a practical introduction to the first stage of the Bhūta Jaya process—the contemplative exploration of the water element—and offers readers a systematic approach to understanding and applying these teachings in their own meditation practice.
The text explores the progression from gross perception to subtle awareness, the role of concentration and contemplation in yoga, the distinction between the seer and the seen, and the transformative process described by the ancient yogic tradition. While rooted in the classical teachings of Patanjali, the book is written with modern practitioners in mind and is intended to be both accessible and practical.
As an additional benefit, the paperback edition is currently available at a 50% discount, which is the deepest discount I am able to offer through my publisher. This special pricing will remain available through the end of June.

I am also excited to announce that The Samadhi of Water will serve as one of the two required reading materials for the upcoming Samadhi of Water Course, which begins on August 22nd.
The course will provide a structured and guided exploration of the practices, principles, and experiences associated with the water element as described in the Bhūta Jaya teachings. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in guided meditations, study the philosophical foundations of the practice, and learn how these teachings can support deeper states of concentration, contemplation, and self-awareness.
For those planning to participate, I strongly recommend reading through the book before the course begins. Familiarity with the concepts and terminology will allow you to engage more fully in the discussions and meditations and help you gain the greatest benefit from the program.

The purpose of both the book and the course is not merely to study ideas, but to engage a living process of exploration. Patanjali’s teachings invite us to examine experience directly, to refine awareness, and to discover the deeper dimensions of consciousness that become accessible through disciplined practice.
Whether you are new to these teachings or have been practicing meditation for many years, I hope this book and course provide useful guidance and inspiration for your journey.
Thank you for your continued interest in these teachings and for your dedication to sincere practice. I look forward to studying and practicing together with many of you in the months ahead.
