Part 9 Yoga Sutras Chapter 1 verse 14-15
In this recording from a series of lectures on the first chapter of the Yoga Sutras, Ryan Kurczak talks about sutra 14 and 15.
To wake up quicker it is helpful to hold alert attention in the frontal parts of the brain while we meditate. This will allow us to more easily observe what passes through our awareness and let it go and by staying alert and aware in our daily living we can more easily make choices that are aligned with our intention to wake up and make decisions that change our destiny.
With the practice of dispassionate nonattachment cravings, urges and instinctual drives cease to be influential in our lives and we can more easily live in accord with natural law and in harmony with awakening. As a part of a greater wholeness we can ask for divine assistance if our human willpower is not strong enough to master influences that are contrary to our intention to wake up.
