Join us for our second annual Kriya Yoga Northern Equinox Silent Retreat at Laurelville Retreat Center, just Southeast of the Pittsburgh International Airport.
This retreat is intended for students aiming to increase their knowledge of Kriya Yoga practice. It is also for Kriya Yogis who wish to come together to reaffirm their commitment to the Kriya Yoga process. This is an excellent retreat for those intending to apply for the 2-Year Kriya Yoga Apprenticeship (https://kriyayogaonline.com/kriya-yoga-apprenticeship/) and also an excellent retreat for those already initiated and/or participating in the Kriya Yoga tradition.
Students applying for initiation will have completed the 12-Week An Introduction to Kriya Yoga Meditation for Spiritual Growth course on Teachable.
Swami Sri Yukteswar, teacher of Paramahansa Yogananda, would host Kriya Yoga celebrations on the Equinoxes. During the Equinox the balance between day and night is equal. Sri Yukteswar found these to be excellent times for spiritual retreats and celebration.
During the retreat we will practice meditation together and focus on ways to refine your meditation practice. We will have classes on Kriya Yoga (with an emphasis on Sri Yukteswar’s book The Holy Science), as well as Kriya Initiation for prepared Kriya Yoga students. Aside from class time, this is a silent retreat, to encourage a greater focus on spiritual renewal and internalized well-being.

Your Presenter: Ryan Kurczak was first introduced to Kriya Yoga through the book Autobiography of a Yogi, by Paramahansa Yogananda. During his final year in college he met his teacher Roy Eugene Davis. Roy was a direct student of Paramahansa Yogananda, and he initiated Ryan into Kriya Yoga in 2000, and then later ordained him to teach in 2005. Ryan is one of many students authorized by Mr. Davis to teach and share this Kriya Yoga tradition. Ryan works with students through the “Kriya Yoga Online” Patreon community, and more intensively with students of the Kriya Yoga Apprenticeship Program. He is the host of The Kriya Yoga Podcast and also the author of several books. It is with enthusiasm and great reverence that he serves in this role, as he is able, and as he was consistently encouraged by his own Kriya Yoga teacher.
